Protest in Belgrade on March 15 (BETAPHOTO/MILAN TIMOTIC)

An attack with a sonic weapon on peaceful protesters in Belgrade on March 15, during a 15 minute silent tribute to those who died when a roof collapsed at the Novi Sad railway station on Nov. 1 last year, has intrigued the domestic and partly the international public. As Aleksandar Vucic’s regime denies the attack and threatens to prosecute everyone who publicly claims that there was one, several elements reveal that something was indeed fired at the demonstrators. This unprecedented incident is definitely going to be the main subject in the Serbian public sphere in the period to come.
