The most recent initiative to relocate a former Yugoslav president, Josip Broz Tito’s tomb, which also means that Belgrade’s House of Flowers, where he was buried together with his wife, Jovanka, will be demolished, reignited a long-simmering virtual conflict that has split Serbia, albeit not in two equal parties. It’s a culture war of sorts, between the followers of Serbian nationalist ideology and, let’s call them the “Titoists,” clashing for years, especially on social media.
