Dritan Abazovic’s cabinet didn’t survive a no-confidence vote by the Parliament of Montenegro on Aug. 19, but a way out of the political crisis will be very difficult to find as political leaders appear unable to consent to the key principles to end the stalemate, blocking the work of government institutions. The most realistic option is to have an early parliamentary vote in the wake of the collapse of Abazovic’s cabinet, but it can’t happen before next spring, when they might take place together with the regular presidential election.
