A Bridge of Contention in Novi Sad

Milos Vucevic, until recently the mayor of Vojvodina’s capital and Serbia’s new defense minister, said at an Oct. 24 press conference, his last as the Novi Sad mayor, that the Boulevard of Europe would continue into a fourth bridge across the Danube, regardless of ongoing protests. Vucevic said again that the protests were in vain, asking the activists in the Sodros Survivor Camp if they seriously believed that “someone can stop the state.”
