Late this year Serbia will be given an opportunity to have a third source of natural gas, as a new gas interconnector between Serbia and Bulgaria will open it to a gas flow from Azerbaijan. The project supported by the European Union (EU) is expected to reduce Serbia’s dependence on Russian gas, but it probably won’t for a few more years.
