The strengthening of the coalition around the Serbian Progressive Party, which, after less than two years, will again have an absolute majority in parliament, a significant drop in support for the Socialist Party of Serbia, the right-wing opposition’s extremely poor results, and a surprise success of Branimir Nestorovic’s movement characterized Serbia’s parliamentary elections on Dec. 17. The winners are the ruling coalition spearheaded by Aleksandar Vucic and Nestorovic’s movement, the biggest losers are the National Gathering (Dveri and the Oath Keepers) and People’s Party, while the Serbia Against Violence coalition can be pleased with its results.
