Boban Rajic, a little known businessman from the Vucak settlement near Smederevo has become the owner of Vecernje Novosti, one of Serbia’s top newspapers, after paying RSD300 million (EUR2.5 million).
The majority owner of the Novosti company, Stamparija Borba, which owns 98.06 percent of the paper’s capital, brought a decision at an Aug. 26 shareholders’ assembly to approve the contract on selling Novosti to the Media 026 d.o.o. Vucak company, owned by Rajic. Rajic is also the owner of the Belgrade Ruski Car restaurant.
