There were 31 registered coronavirus cases in total in Serbia by 8 a.m. on March 13.
At the national reference laboratory of the Torlak Institute, by 8 a.m. on March 13, 2020 a total of 214 individuals had been tested for a new strain of the virus, reads a post on the Ministry of Health's covid19.rs website.
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic previously said that on March 13 the cabinet will hold a session at which two crisis headquarters will be formed, one that will be in charge of suppressing the negative effects on the economy related to the coronavirus pandemic, which will be headed by President Aleksandar Vucic, while she will lead the other HQ, which will deal with coronavirus spread prevention.
Brnabic told Pink TV that at the moment testing is being done to see how classes at home would work, "but the profession says that at this time that is counterproductive".
The prime minister also said that the clinics for infectious diseases in Belgrade and Novi Sad are gearing up to accommodate only people infected with the coronavirus, if necessary.
She added that oversight at border crossings has been stepped up and that the migrants entering Serbia are placed in 14-day quarantine.
