The Alliance for Serbia has asked European officials for help in the suppression of the corona virus, and called on Europe to show solidarity, it was stated on March 19.
In a letter to the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, members of the European Parliament and its speaker, David Sassoli, the Alliance wrote that 97 people in Serbia were currently infected with the corona virus, that a total of 486 had been tested and that the Serbian government had taken a series of measures to prevent the spread of the epidemic and help the people of Serbia.
"In all these activities, we rely on the help of China, and we are grateful to the Chinese people for that help, but that is not enough," the letter reads. "Serbia, as well as other countries of the Western Balkans, need the following: corona virus tests, protective gear (masks, gloves, goggles), disinfectants, medical equipment – primarily respirators, and the experience of physicians and other services in the fight against the corona virus," stated the Alliance.
The Alliance for Serbia petitioned European officials to exert pressure on the EU institutions and governments of the member states, and help the Western Balkans.
