Shoigu Congratulates Vulin, Army and Veterans on World War II Victory Day

On May 7 Russian Minister of Defense general Sergei Shoigu congratulated Serbian Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, members of the armed forces and veterans on May 9 WWII Victory Day.

To save ourselves from the plague of the 20th century, our peoples paid with the lives of millions of their daughters and sons. Our parents, grandfathers and close ones who were among those who fought, who made it through this horrific war and also those who did not live to see the brilliance of Victory Day."

He also said that we did not have the right to forget history "which some are trying to refashion for their own political aims, by launching open lies and speculation."

"I am convinced that the military cooperation of our countries will bolster the fighting spirit of the members of our armed forces, our resolve to face the global threats and challenges of the 21st century together," Shoigu said.
