Shoygu ,Vulin (Beta/Defence Ministry)
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said on May 13 that his country's support to Serbia in curbing the spread of the coronavirus was "quick, efficient and timely" thanks to "excellent relations" between the Russian and Serbian presidents, Vladimir Putin and Aleksandar Vucic.
Speaking over the phone with his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vulin, Minister Shoygu thanked for honors the Russian team had received for their assistance in Serbia's efforts to fight the virus.
At Shoygu's proposal, an agreement was made to hold a video conference to boost cooperation between military medical services and an exchange of experiences in the struggle against Covid-19, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
The minister also repeated his invitation to Serbia to take part in the International Military Games 2020, the Army 2020 forum and the Military Parade, which Vulin accepted.
The Serbian defense minister said that the Russian team had received the highest-ranking honors awarded by his ministry for an exceptional contribution to Serbia's defense system. The Russian aid team was decorated in an award ceremony during joint celebrations of the Victory Day, May 9.
