The European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) announced on June 16 that it had created an international mission for monitoring legislative elections in Serbia on June 21.
ENEMO has accredited six international experts for observing the election who are members of its Core Team. This mission is its first in Serbia out of a total 30 which includes Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Kosovo, Moldavia and Ukraine.
The ENEMO mission will not monitor the opening of polling stations, voting and the counting of votes, but it will visit a several polling stations to check the operation of polling station committees. A day after the elections, on June 22, ENEMO will produce a report on its findings and conclusions followed by a final report on election administration, the registration of candidates, the election campaign and complaints.
ENEMO is an international network of 21 nonprofit, nonpartisan and NGO organizations from 17 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia which was founded in 2001 to monitor elections and the application of international standards.
