The leader of the "For the Future of Montenegro" coalition, Zdravko Krivokapic, stated on Sept. 9 that he was "concerned" that none of the leaders from the region and the world had called him since the parliamentary elections, and reiterated that he had not been acquainted with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

"The fact that nobody had called means that they were obviously waiting for the verification of the election result, which is undisputable. The repeated vote in Petnjica cannot change the election result. I probably do not understand that, because I am not a diplomat, so I don't understand that diplomatic vocabulary, but that obviously means that the verification by the State Electoral Commission is what is being waited for," Krivokapic said in an interview to BETA.

Commenting on the relations with Serbia, Krivokapic said that "one should have the best possible relations in all fields," that the current authorities had "unnecessarily introduced tension" between the two countries, "with disregard for the brotherly relations."

"Conditions must be created for normal cooperation, because if economic relations are good, since trade is the most voluminous with Serbia – why wouldn't you have the same relations in other fields? If you are not on good terms with your neighbors, you cannot do well, and that is what this tourism season has proven," he stated.
