Serbia's prime minister-designate Ana Brnabic promised on Oct. 28 a pro-European cabinet that would support the political and economic continuity of government, and open new issues to make Serbia stronger and improve the quality of life for its citizens, responding to their needs and its own challenges.
"Serbia is a stable state today, financially and economically. The national unemployment rates have dropped to a record low of 7.3 percent, the average net salary is over EUR500, while wages and pensions are increased continuously. Serbia has stepped into a period of stable growth, and its growth rates are among the highest in this part of Europe. The odds are it will be the highest this year," Brnabic said to Serbian MPs, presenting a new government platform.
The PM-designate listed six major goals for her new cabinet - to fight the Covid-19 virus and strengthen the national healthcare sector, to protect the vital interests of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, to fight organized crime and start an all-out war against the mafia, to protect Serbia's independence and independent decision making, to secure the rule of law and step up reforms in Serbia's EU accession procession, and to solidify Serbian economy.
