Lavrov to Visit Serbia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Belgrade on Dec. 15, where he will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and other officials, attend the lighting of the eternal flame at the Cemetery of Belgrade Liberators and tour the Church of Saint Sava.

According to a press release from Vucic's office, Vucic and Lavrov will attend the ceremony of lighting the eternal flame at the Cemetery of Belgrade Liberators and lay wreaths at the Eternal Flame monument.

Lavrov will tour the Church of Saint Sava accompanied by Vucic and lay flowers on the grave of Serbian Orthodox Church patriarch Irinej. Lavrov will, according to announcements, read out a letter from Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the completion of works on the Church of Saint Sava. The Russian minister will then meet with his Serbian counterpart Nikola Selakovic at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko has said that the main subject of Lavrov's talks with officials in Belgrade will be relations between Serbia and Russia, the issue of Kosovo and bilateral economic projects.
