Serbian Health Ministry State Secretary Mirsad Djerlek stated on Dec. 28 that 700 residents of nursing homes have been vaccinated against coronavirus and that no side effects have been reported.

Djerlek told Happy TV that the management at the Dr. Milan Jovanovc Batut Public Health Institute has made a plan for the administration of the vaccine.

“Batut has made a plan of who will be receiving the vaccine when, but the epidemiological situation also plays a role. Health workers will get shots starting mid-January,” Djerlek said.

According to him, Serbia can expect another 80,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to arrive in January. He also said that the Serbian Medicine and Medical Devices Agency should be approving both the Russian, Sputnik V, and Chinese vaccines in the next few days.

“The vaccine may only be administered to a healthy person; if someone shows up with a fever, they won’t be allowed to receive the vaccine that day,” Djerlek explained.
