Schools throw open their doors on April 19 and will receive older elementary school pupils and high school students, Predrag Kon, an epidemiologist and member of the COVID Crisis Headquarters, said on April 16.

After a session of the Crisis Headquarters, Kon said the body had decided to charge foreign citizens the same amount for PCR testing for the novel coronavirus in an attempt to support tourism.

He said it had also been decided that preparations for the Belgrade Marathon in June may begin.

"We'll see about everything else. It depends directly on the situation. As far as other measures are concerned, there are no changes. Things remain as they have been, and that's what happened in this meeting on April 16," Kon told reporters, adding that the number of patients discharged from Serbian hospitals had risen against the number of admittances.

Kon said some 3.5 million citizens would have to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order for life to return to normal, but that that number was "still pretty far" off.
