In Black and White Movement: Comparing Assassinated Prime Minister Djindjic and Vucic Is Absurd

Milan Veruovic, the vice president of the recently formed movement In Black and White, has said that it is absurd to compare a former prime minister Zoran Djindjic, whose bodyguard he used to be, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. 

“This is an absurd situation in which we as a society have found ourselves in. We have to go back to forgotten values. It seems to me that we have forgotten who Zoran Djindjic was and who Aleksandar Vucic is, [the latter] daily imposing on us issues of no relevance,” Veruovic told the July 15 issue of the Danas daily.

According to him, “In the storm and confusion that we live in, Vucic is free to equate his policies with Djindjic’s, and boast that he is their current champion. This is a serious matter, causing concern for the society as a whole,” said Veruovic, who suffered grave injuries in the attack in which Djindjic was assassinated. 

Veruovic also said that the goal of the movement, formed by Vladimir Vuletic, a School of Law professor and former vice president of the Partizan soccer club, is “the establishing of a system and criteria of values.” 

“We will rebuild and revive the long disappeared values and use them to find and nominate competent people, capable of making and proposing decisions. I think that people are not afraid, they just need some encouragement,” Veruovic said.
