Weekly Vreme editor Filip Svarm said on July 19 that the arrest of Veljko Belivuk's criminal group was "the biggest" case since Aleksandar Vulin had arrived at the helm of the Ministry of Interior, adding that it was the reason why the minister had shown partly censored photographs of decapitated bodies on a television with national coverage.
Svarm told BETA that Vulin was not picky as to the ways in which he would brag about what the ministry he led had achieved. The journalist said that it was obvious that the victims of the criminal group had been tortured and photographed in the process, but pointed out that those photographs should not be shown on television. "There needs to be at least a little respect for the families of those victims," he said.
The interior minister showed partly censored photographs of decapitated bodies on a political talk show on a TV channel with nationwide coverage, late on July 18.
