Movement for Change leader Janko Veselinovic said on Aug. 9 that Partizan Football Club fan Djordje Prelic, previously convicted of the murder of French football fan Brice Taton, had been tasked by the authorities with taking control of the southern stands at the Belgrade club's stadium and preventing chanting against the Serbian president.
"After having served six year of his prison sentence, Prelic was released from prison under suspicious circumstances last month, even though he had been sentenced to 10 years for his involvement in the brutal murder of Brice Taton. Not only has he ended up free, but rather Aleksandar Vucic's regime has apparently given him the role of Veljko Belivuk's replacement in the south of the Partizan stadium," said Veselinovic.
He added in a written statement that Prelic was being brought to Partizan matches in a Serbian government vehicle with an escort, and that his task was to establish control among Partizan fans so as to prevent anti-Vucic chants. "How can someone who was convicted of the brutal murder of a fan attend matches and how has a security measure not been imposed on them?" Veselinovic asked in the statement.
