The U.S. has donated five more ambulances to Serbia, an Aug. 26 statement said.

The new vehicles were given to health centers in Ljig, Merosina, Jagodina, Veliko Gradiste as well as the general hospital in Loznica. The first donation of six ambulances was presented to Serbian Minister of Health in June by U.S. Ambassador Anthony Godfrey .

"We look forward to the day when will be able to speak of this pandemic in the past tense and when there will be no COVID patients for these ambulances to carry," USAID acting mission chief Shanley Pinchotti has said.

The donation was realized through a partnership between USAID and the UNDP as part of an initiative called, Together Against COVID.
