Action Dubbed 'Pause, Serbia' in Memory of 15 Killed in Novi Sad
Citizens have been invited to stop everything they are doing at 11:52 a.m. on Nov. 22, as part of an action dubbed "Pause, Serbia," and thereby honor the people killed in the collapse of the Novi Sad railway station concrete canopy.
The fall of the overhang above the entrance to the renovated train station, at 11:52 a.m. on Nov. 1, killed 14 people, while one of the three severely injured subsequently succumbed to the injuries in hospital.
The call to citizens to pause for a symbolic 15 minutes at 11:52 a.m., in remembrance of the 15 killed, was sent by representatives of the ProGlas initiative, a portion of the academic community and a number of opposition parties.
The action is scheduled to take place at multiple locations in Novi Sad and Belgrade, while ProGlas representatives invited all Serbian citizens to join it, regardless of their whereabouts at the given time.
