A Serbian virologist, Dr Milanko Seker, said on Oct. 27 that only a round-the-clock use of the Covid pass would "make sense," adding that the restriction should have been in force since June or July.
"The decision should have been made then, to encourage people to get vaccinated. We have entered the fall season with the same percentage of vaccinated people we had last spring," Sekler said in an interview with the Prva TV.
The expert said that he didn't notice that vaccination turnout tripled since the Covid pass had been introduced, as a deputy to Belgrade's mayor, Goran Vesic, had stated, explaining that it's largely "the people working in hospitality firms" who wanted to get vaccinated.
Sekler said that a decision to introduce Covid passes for indoor venues after 10 p.m was "impossible to carry out efficiently," and that he didn't expect it to reduce the number of infections.
