Chinese foreign minister Vang Ji said on Oct. 28 that the friendship between China and Serbia was stable and unbreakable.
At a joint news conference after meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Vang said that China "is proud to have such a genuine and good friend" like Serbia and thanked Belgrade for its "unambiguous support" regarding questions that are of "vital importance" to Beijing.
"Under the strategic leadership of [Chinese] President Xi and Vucic, the traditional friendship between Serbia and China has gained a new vitality. For us, Serbia is a special place and 1.4 billion Chinese know that we have a friend of steel in the west of the Eurasian continent and that that is Serbia," Vang said.
He added that the Chinese knew that Serbia "has an exceptional leader," President Vucic, who "unambiguously and strongly guards the sovereignty, territorial integrity and dignity of his country" and insists on friendly cooperation with China.
