Zoran Bekic, the vaccine coordinator at the Belgrade Fair vaccination site, on Nov. 30 that lines at vaccine sites had reduced compared to late October, noting that the moment the number of new Covid-19 cases had started dropping so had the vaccine uptake,  meaning that “we tend to relax.”

“Instead of increasing vaccine uptake, it has slowed down and as it has been happening in the EU, it is not the question whether there will be a surge in the number of new cases in Serbia, but when,” Bekic told TV Pink.

Speaking about the upcoming meeting of the Crisis Headquarters for fighting Covid-19, Bekic said that ski resorts would be in the focus as large number of new coronavirus cases had been registered last ski season with the people returning from ski resorts.

“I hope that the scenario will not repeat. The options are – ski passes along with Covid passes, 24/7 Covid passes for ski resorts. Anything that could help prevent the transmission in indoors spaces. We will primarily try to see whether we can implement it without jeopardizing the next ski season,” Bekic said.

He also appealed to people to celebrate their patron saints only with family members and fewer guests, noting that that the citizens were very responsible last year.
