Serbian Ambassador to Ukraine Aleksandar Jovanovic on March 1, said the Serbian Embassy had sent a diplomatic note to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry requesting the way be cleared for the trucks driven by Serbian nationals to leave the country and return to Serbia.

“Also, in the evening on Feb. 28, the Serbian Foreign Ministry called Ukrainian Ambassador to Serbia Oleksandr Aleksandrovych requesting from him to take all measures to ensure clear way for Serbian drivers out of Ukraine,” Jovanovic told TV Happy. He recalled that the Serbian drivers had been waiting four, five days in line at Ukrainian border crossings although there existed no technical reasons for not letting them leave.

Asked about Serbian nationals who had remained in Ukraine, the Serbian replied that the Embassy had been in daily contact with them, stressing that the Embassy had advised them to leave Ukraine even before the official advisory was issued. Jovanovic noted that personnel of very few embassies, no more than ten, remained in Kiev as some had earlier moved to the city of Lviv or had closed.
