There were 2,620 newly infected with the coronavirus in Serbia in the past 24 hours and 31 people died from the infection.
According to the announcement on the covid19.rs web-site on March 3, 15,059 samples were tested in that period. 2,190 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals, 100 of them on ventilators.
Since the official proclamation of the coronavirus pandemic, 15, 326 people have died from the disease in Serbia, while 8,800,146 have been tested and 1,919,327 were positive for the virus.
The commander of the military COVID hospital Karaburma, Ivo Udovicic, stated on March 3 that the epidemiological situation in Serbia was becoming more favorable, and that the patients being treated in that hospital were mostly elderly people. Udovicic has predicted that a rise in the number of new infections could be expected in the autumn and winter, but that the situation would be "significantly better" than in the previous two years.
