The Air Serbia national airline is currently operating 15 flights to Moscow a week, but under pressure from Europe, it will need to “reset to factory settings,” the Politika newspaper reported on March 16.

In other words, Air Serbia will run eight weekly flights to Moscow, and, possibly, another two charter flights to St. Petersburg, returning to the schedule it had used before the Ukrainian crisis.

The sanctions European states have introduced against Russian airlines, banning Russian aircraft from using the European Union’s air space because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, coupled with the counter-sanctions by Russia, have inadvertently made Serbia the only state whose airline can freely operate air routes between Russia and European destinations,” Politika explained in an article.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that in a few days the Air Serbia would again have one flight to Moscow a day, because there’s an active campaign against Serbia, accused of having doubled the number of flight to Moscow, making money off “Ukrainian blood.”
