Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic thanked the U.S. on June 28 for its support to Serbia's attempts to diversify energy sources, adding that the two countries had good economic relations.
During a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill, it was assessed that work should be stepped up for Serbia "to gain access to the energy projects that are well under way," it was stated by the Presidency.
Vucic underscored that Serbia was dedicated to political dialogue and to investing additional efforts into the development of regional relations in all fields, adding that the preservation of peace and stability in the region remained one of Serbia's priorities, by which it is showing to be "a serious and responsible partner."
Hill reiterated the support to the European integration of the entire Western Balkans, stressing that this was one of the priorities of U.S. foreign policy in the region.
"We expect Serbia to declare a clear stance on honoring international law and condemning the Russian aggression on Ukraine, and to be fully committed to reforms in the rule of law and other fields, necessary for progress on the European path," the ambassador stated.
