Premier Albin Kurti called in a video message in Serbian on Sept. 1 on Serbs in the north to re-register their vehicles from KM to RKS license plates.
"As of today (Sept. 1) until Oct. 31, 34 municipal centers for vehicle registrations will conduct the process of re-registering vehicles with license plates issued by Serbia to the license plates of the Republic of Kosovo," the Kosovo premier said on Facebook.
According to him, Kosovo has a total of 401,945 cars with RKS license plates while tens of thousands belong to minority communities and around two percent of all vehicles are supposed to be re-registered.
