The president of the People’s Party, Vuk Jeremic, presented on Sept. 6 the party’s Resolution on Kosovo, which envisages that Pristina is given until the end of the year to form the Community of Serb Municipalities, or Belgrade would proclaim the Brussels process unsuccessful and abandon the talks.
“If the Community of Serb Municipalities is not formed as agreed, until Dec. 31, 2022, or in the event of any unilateral act of the temporary self-governance institutions in Pristina, we request that the Serbian government stops all further EU-mediated negotiations as unsuccessful (…) and that the talks continue under the auspices of the contact group consisting of the five permanent U.S. Security Council members,” Jeremic said.
In his words, the Serbian government is mandated to continue the international diplomatic campaign for retracting the recognitions of Kosovo as independent, to conduct an active campaign against Kosovo’s membership in international institutions and to approach Russia and China with the request to veto Kosovo’s membership in the U.N..
He stated that the People’s Party would propose the Resolution to the Parliament, in which the state is requested to never recognize Kosovo’s independence. Jeremic said that they would request that the Serbian government presents a negotiation platform for the dialogue until Oct. 15, and that a part of the strategy, classified as secret, is presented to the Parliament’s Committee for Kosovo and Metohija.
