Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Oct. 28 that Belgrade would do everything to protect peace and stability, including in its talks with Pristina.

“The last thing we want to see are any escalations, problems and tensions, and I hope that working together with you, we will be able to find a way to protect peace and stability across the region,” Vucic said in Jelasnica, at a joint press conference with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

President Vucic said he was confident Serbia would “take stronger steps” on its path to the European Union, while continuing to foster good ties with China and maintain its position on the conflict in Ukraine. Vucic underlined that Serbia respected the territorial integrity of Ukraine now, as well, and, as he said, that was never the issue.

“I’m just wondering why the territorial integrity of Serbia was not respected (concerning Kosovo),” Vucic said.
