Slobodan Vujicic, president of the Association of Montenegrins in Kosovo, cautioned on March 22 that tens of thousands of Kosovo citizens, living, working and voting in Kosovo, had been included in Montenegro’s voter registers, too.

Vujicic explained that it was contrary to the Constitution of Montenegro and the country’s Law on the Election of Aldermen and Members of Parliament to make an entry into two different voter registers, urging his fellow citizens not to vote in the second round of presidential elections in Montenegro, on April 2. “There are nearly 10,000 people in Pec and Istok alone who vote in  Kosovo and Montenegro alike. It is for the best of reasons that we appeal to them not to yield to pressures and vote in Montenegro, on April 2, as they may be found responsible for double voting, prosecuted and at risk of losing the citizenship of Montenegro,” Vujicic has warned.

The current president of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, and a candidate nominated by the Europe Now party, Jakov Milatovic, have entered the second round of Montenegro’s presidential polls.
