In a written response to the Voice of America, the Ukrainian Embassy in Serbia stated that it has “no information” on Belgrade sending or intending to send munitions to Ukraine.
On April 12, the British news agency Reuters reported that Serbia has shipped – or intends to ship – arms to the Ukrainian side of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. Leaked top-secret U.S. documents were cited as the source of these claims.
According to one such document, Serbia allegedly refused to support the training of Ukrainian troops, but did agree to provide Ukraine with arms – or has already done so.
The Ukrainian Embassy in Belgrade stated that it has no information on such shipments and, therefore, “relies on the statements of Serbian officials.”
Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic and Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic both denied Reuters’s claims.
The U.S. Embassy in Serbia announced on April 12 that, according to the information it has, Serbia is not selling munitions to Ukraine.
