Unless President Aleksandar Vucic goes to a U.N. Security Council meeting and openly states that Serbia is against Kosovo joining the United Nations, Pristina may enter into procedure for membership in that organization, Vuk Jeremic, the leader of the People’s Party, said on April 27.

Speaking for Nova.rs, Jeremic stated that said procedure will be launched unless Vucic calls on the Security Council’s members – which include Russia and China – to vote against Kosovo’s bid, should the issue be raised during the meeting.

“He doesn’t have to say ‘shame on you’ or ‘go to hell’ to anyone, merely to state, in a civilized manner, that Serbia opposes Kosovo’s membership in the U.N.,” Jeremic concluded.
