Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on April 27 that Azerbaijan’s vote against the admission of Kosovo into the Council of Europe (CoE) was an expression of “true friendship” and thanked this country for demonstrating “adherence to international law” during the vote.
“Serbia views this act as an expression of true friendship,” Vucic said during the meeting in Belgrade with the Azeri minister for labor and welfare protection, Sahil Babayev.
President Vucic wished success in work to the members of the Inter-governmental Committee for economic cooperation and trade, co-chaired by Minister Babayev and the Serbian minister for labor, employment, veterans and welfare policy, Nikola Selakovic, and added that he hoped for better results in the strengthening of cooperation in all fields, especially in energy, agriculture, tourism and defense, reads the statement of the Serbian Presidency.
Babayev said he expected this year to also be successful in the context of bilateral relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan, bearing in mind that Serbo-Azeri strategic partnership was registering a strong momentum. He stated that the delegation of Azerbaijan visiting Belgrade numbered many people and that he expected good results as the outcome of work of the Inter-governmental Committee and Business Forum, so that a good development dynamic would continue, since trade has increased by 18 percent.
