Serbian Minister of National and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic said on June 7 that inflation had been halted, and that “it’s the beginning of a downward trend.”

Momirovic said in an interview with the RTS public service that “prices are beginning to go down,” and, as he put it, “people can already see that in various types of flash sales.” “Until retailers are convinced that inflation has definitely taken a downward turn, they won’t reduce prices, but they will launch different sales promotion campaigns instead,” the minister said, describing it as “a clear signal.”

“The trend will stabilize in 15 to 30 days. All European states have the same problem, but we have managed to overcome it. Inflation is down, prices have been stabilized and I believe the people will feel it quite soon,” Minister Momirovic said.
