Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on July 6 that a vote of confidence in the Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic which he won in parliament showed that the ruling majority was stable and that there was no crisis.

Dacic, who is president of the Socialist Party of Serbia, told Pink TV that "great patience was shown  in parliament, because the debate lasted so long." He said that the parliament session in which the opposition motioned for the dismissal of the interior minister for his responsibility for two mass murders was held "so that problems are not solved in the street but in parliament," but that what happened was "the street was transferred into parliament."

As for the events in north Kosovo, Dacic said that "the situation has come to the point that (Kosovo Premier Albin) Kurti can achieve any kind of measure, without consequences." He said that the essential disagreement between Belgrade and Pristina was that Kosovo expected Serbia to acknowledge its independence, which, he said, "is not going to happen."
