On July 17, the leaders of the Western Balkans along with EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi will be having an informal lunch in Tirana, but Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti will not be attending due to a prior engagement.
According to Kosovo government spokesman Preparim Kryeziu, Rama personally invited Kurti to attend the gathering a week ago, but Kurti regretfully cannot make it because he already committed to participating in a panel on the Western Balkans on Crete several months ago, which takes place at the same time as the Tirana meeting.
“Of course, Prime Minister Kurti will participate in the Berlin Process summit in Tirana, scheduled for Oct. 16, 2023,” Kryezu added in his Facebook post.
So far, attendance at the July 17 lunch was confirmed by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, acting Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovic, North Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski and Borjana Kristo, chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
