Serbia has harmonized with the latest decision of the EU Council on restrictive measures over the situation in Syria.

According to the July 27 statement of the EU high representative for foreign policy and security, Josep Borrell, the EU Council adopted a decision on July 14 to extend the exception to the earlier restrictive measures brought due to the situation in Syria, for humanitarian reasons.

The new decision of the EU Council has been supported by all the EU member candidate countries in the Western Balkans (North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina). They will make sure that their national policies are harmonized with this decision, and the EU acknowledges this commitment and welcomes it, the statement reads.
