Leader of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party Milos Vucevic said on Aug. 11 that the People's Movement for the State, the founding of which was announced by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic several months ago, would probably be formed in the early fall as "the broadest possible political front whose common denominator is Serbia as a free, independent state."

When asked about elections, Vucevic told Prva TV that April and May were the time for regular local and provincial elections, but also "an opportunity to maybe include some other elections, too."

"If they (the opposition) want to go to elections earlier, it's no problem at all. But there will be no blackmail - we want these and we don't want those. You want elections in Belgrade - OK, but we're talking about parliamentary, we're talking about local, provincial. We're not running from any topic, but we will not allow conditioning, it's not a farmers' market," said Vucevic.
