The president of the Party of Democratic Action of Sandzak, Sulejman Ugljanin, stated on Nov. 8 that the party would run independently in the forthcoming parliamentary and local elections in Novi Pazar, and that he expected a better result than in the 1990s.

He stated at a news conference that the party had “clear and known goals, from the 1990s to this day,” a program and capable, competent and quality people to carry it out. He said that the party advocated the preservation and advancement of Bosniacs’ rights, establishing of a legal Serbian state, Serbia’s full membership in the EU and NATO and solving of all political and territorial disputes by peaceful means.

“The right of the citizens of Sandzak to quicker economic development and regional self-management in the Republic of Serbia, effective participation of Bosniacs in public life and their proportional representation in state organs and institutions. Care for the family, advancement of the Bosniac identity and traditional values and the protection of public morals,” Ugljanin stated in an interview to Radio Sto Plus.
