During a Feb. 6 evening address before the assembly of AmCham Serbia, a non-profit business association located in Belgrade, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill stated that the Expo 2027 specialized world exposition represents “a chance for Serbia to become a big economic player in Europe.”
“In every sense, Expo 2027 – regardless of the EU’s schedule or plan – is a chance for Serbia to come out as a big economic player in Europe,” Hill said.
In his opinion, 2024 is an important year due to the “projects Serbia and the U.S. will actualize together, with a central area being the business sector.”
“AmCham plays a key role in strengthening economic collaboration between the U.S. and Serbia and in accelerating Serbia’s economic growth,” the ambassador added.
AmCham Serbia comprises over 260 international and domestic companies, which have invested over EUR20 billion in Serbia and employ over 112,000 people.
