The Serbian Ministry of the Interior announced on Feb. 7 that during a meeting with representatives of the European Union (EU) in Belgrade an agreement was reached to continue cooperation towards the joint implementation of the EU Action Plan in the area of migration, "with the Union’s continuous financial support."
The Serbian ministry specified that during the two-day working meeting, representatives of the EU and Serbia discussed continuing cooperation in border management, visa policy alignment, combating migrant smuggling, readmissions and returns, as well as asylum and reception capacities.
The Serbian delegation included representatives of the interior ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of European Integration, and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration.
The EU delegation consisted of representatives of the European Commission and EU agencies, as well as EU delegations in Belgrade: Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, and Slovakia.
