By accepting the recommendation that Kosovo be allowed to join, the Council of Europe as an international organization founded with the goal of supporting human rights, democracy and the rule of law in Europe, has violated international law and its own tenets, the opposition Dveri movement said on March 28.
“Neither is the false state of Kosovo internationally recognized nor do the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija have basic human rights. Also, the CoE was accused a while back of institutional corruption, as well as no longer having any purpose and having questionable credibility. Therefore this decision by this already massively compromised organization is unsurprising,” it said.
Dveri also said that “this decision is the result of the incumbent authorities’ detrimental policy which particularly applies to Vucic’s acceptance of the Franco-German ultimatum and Ohrid agreement according to which Serbia will not oppose the false state of Kosovo joining international organizations.”
