Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric said on June 21 that Serbia planned to complete all major reforms required for joining the European Union (EU) by 2027.

"Serbia plans to complete all major legislative, economic and political reforms needed for our country's accession to the European Union by 2027. Our priorities are clear. In addition, Serbia wants to continue to be a factor of stability, and help preserve peace in the region," the minister said at a meeting of the Friends of the Western Balkans informal group of European foreign ministers and partners from the Western Balkans, held in Goettweig, Austria.

Speaking about the Western Balkans’ accession to the Union, Djuric said that pooling resources was the solution to the challenges faced by the region, as well as Europe as a whole, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"If we want the region to be fully integrated, we must join forces in advocating for the region's entry into the EU, despite the differences among us," Djuric emphasized.
