Bosnia Sees Decline in Total Milk Production

Last year's total production of cow's milk in Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to around 620.84 million liters and was 5.3% lower than in 2018, the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina has stated. 

Goat's milk production last year totaled 7.1 million liters and was 3.9% lower than the year before, whereas sheep's milk production was 1.7% lower and amounted to 14.87 million liters, daily Nezavisne Novine reports. 

Total wool production last year added up to 1,381 tons and was down 3.6% relative to 2018; the production of honey totaled 3,359 tons and was 15.9% lower, while the production of eggs went up 9.5% relative to 2018 and amounted to 722,876,000. 

Last year, Bosnia and Herzegovina had 430,000 livestock units, down 1.8% YOY; the number of goats was 72,000 and was 1.4% lower than in 2018, whereas the number of pigs was 0.2% higher and totaled 543,000. 

Poultry totaled 22,423,000 units, up 6.2% YOY; the number of beehives was 423,000 - up 5%, while the total number of sheep and horses remained the same as the year before.
