Bulb, electricity (Pixabay)
On Aug. 30, the Ministry of Mining and Energy issued the recommendation for the nationwide rationing of power and heating.
Solutions proposed to local and state administrations, publicly-owned companies, public institutions and industrial users include cutting back on unnecessary lighting, limiting the use of decorative holiday lights, switching to LED lightbulbs, installing new doors and windows and employing other heat conservation measures, installing solar panels, transitioning from electric heating to other heating methods, and using heat pumps. The goal of these measures is to reduce power expenditure by 15 percent compared to last year.
Households have been asked to use electricity as rationally as possible. Users whose winter season power utility bills are lower than they were during the same month of last year may be rewarded with a discount, the Ministry said.
