Milorad Dodik (BETAPHOTO/MILOS MISKOV)
Alliance of Independent Social Democrats leader Milorad Dodik has won a third mandate as president of Republika Srpska in the October 2022 elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Despite predictions that he would not succeed in staying in power, Dodik has extended his rule in Republika Srpska where he has been the most powerful politician since 2006. Sources in diplomatic circles in Sarajevo claim that Germany considerably contributed to this outcome.
