Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Prince Albert II of Monaco

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said during an Oct. 7 visit by Prince Albert II of Monaco that the two countries were equally prepared to develop ties in all areas, adding that he was confident they would.

"Our states might seem very different at first glance, but they are both old European states with rich history and a freedom-loving spirit. This is a historic event in the bilateral relationship, as it's also Prince Albert's first official visit," Vucic said at a welcome ceremony in the Palace of Serbia.

President Vucic said that it's an honour for him to have awarded Prince Albert II with the Order of the Republic of Serbia, and that he had "learned a lot" in a private conversation with the prince.

"I asked questions about the environment, international politics and other things, being aware of the experience and education of Prince Albert. I am very grateful to him for sharing his knowledge with us, and for demonstrating true friendship," the president said, hoping that memorandums of understanding in the area of economy would boost bilateral cooperation in other areas as well.
